Stretching the Soul, and the Fly Line!
The simple truth is that you don’t have to go to Belize, or some exotic place every trip, nor should you. The whole point that MyFlyFishing.Club is trying to make is simple: Go fishing more often, eliminate the frustration level. Unwind, and enjoy this beautiful habitat for what it is, not what it was, or what it could be.
Live in the now, enjoy time with loved ones, and friends. Do not underestimate the value of being a part of a perfect moment, not just the netting of a great fish, but a perfect cast, take, set, especially if it is not you doing it, but if you are witnessing it happen from someone that you care about. Share our sport, and fight for our sport, be respectful of people that fish differently than you, and demand that they respect the way that you love to fish! Be in service of this grand sport, when someone asks for help, and you have the resources, offer the help that is so badly needed.
When that time comes that I can no longer wade, or hike, or fish they way that I have grown so fond of, I hope that I can celebrate a life of living my dream, and not wishing that I had more time to fish the way that I should have. Now that I have what The Grateful Dead would call “A touch of Grey.” I understand a little better about the transient nature of our time here. How brittle everything is, and just how fortunate we are to be able to enjoy this blessing that we call fly fishing. So with every outing, I will try to take a little time to enjoy the smells, sights, sounds, and the company that I am allowed to be with. To laugh a little longer at a great joke, or situation that lends itself to us for only a short while.
A famous, (but anonymous) quote says: “Time is like a river. You cannot touch the same water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again. Enjoy every moment of your life!” ~Unknown
I hope that you will spend more quality time on the water in this season, (the best one of our lives)! MFF.C
Thank you for spending this time with me! Tight Lines!
